John Nardone is the CEO of Flashtalking. He is a first-generation ad tech pioneer serving as a founding board member of the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB). Throughout his career he earned recognition within the advertising community for his ground-breaking work at Pepsi, Modem Media and Marketing Management Analytics (MMA). At MMA, he had a hand in establishing marketing mix modeling, illustrating his long-standing advocacy for marketing accountability. As CEO at [x+1], through its acquisition by Rocket Fuel, Nardone helped transform that business into a top-rated data management platform (DMP). Rocket Fuel acquired [x+1] for $230M in 2014. It was while running [x+1] that Nardone became a client of Flashtalking, and learned firsthand of its power as the art and science behind the perfect message.
Pete is Flashtalking CFO, previously having held the same role at J Walter Thompson and subsequently President / COO at [x+1] through its acquisition by Rocketuel. Specializing in leading high growth companies through inflection, scale, and exit, with a strong technical expertise and entrepreneurial mindset, Pete thrives on change and hands-on problem solving. He helps develop Flashtalking’s teams to execute and focus on value creation. An expert in translating business vision into flawless execution that delivers results and a valued partner to John Nardone, Flashtalking CEO, Pete provides excellent communication and consensus-building skills that satisfy the multiple constituencies across Flashtalking.
Ben Kartzman is COO of Flashtalking. His experience brings over a decade of industry knowledge and leadership in ad tech to the Flashtalking team. Previously CEO and co-founder of Spongecell, Kartzman led the company’s evolution from a respected rich media provider to a market-leading dynamic creative platform trusted by sophisticated brands and agencies alike. With a shared vision of the future of data-driven creative, Spongecell and Flashtalking merged in early 2018. Earlier in his career, Kartzman consulted at Accenture, Bridgeline and venture-backed Guidester. He graduated with honors from Carnegie Mellon with a dual BS in Human Computer Interaction and Information & Decision Systems.
Paul is the driving force behind Flashtalking’s global business. With many years of experience running direct marketing and creative agencies, Paul entered digital in 2000 and, together with co-founder Dan Freeman, is credited with delivering many media and technology firsts. Paul sets the strategy and direction for the business, its ever-increasing global footprint, whilst maintaining close involvement in product development and innovation.
Pat is Chief Technology Officer of Flashtalking. DeAngelis has two decades of ad tech engineering leadership experience, beginning his career leading agency-side technology practices, such as within Snyder Communications, before joining the founding team at Modem Media. On top posts at CentrPort and Infotrieve, he was responsible for advanced systems development before going on to lead the team at [X + 1 ], where he effectively began his path and his focus on systems and solutions for delivering highly personalized ad marketing solutions. He leads a global development team at Flashtalking that aims to deliver the next chapter of creative tech innovation to the world’s biggest advertisers and their agencies.
As Flashtalking CMO Martin leads marketing strategy and output. Previously UK MD, he is passionate about digital technology, creativity and innovation. He has fifteen years of experience in creative media and online technology businesses – following an MA in Propaganda & Persuasion he worked in film production before moving to ad technology start-up Tangozebra in 2001. As Director of Innovation he was responsible for growing the company’s products, creative solutions and business through to its acquisition by DoubleClick (Google) in 2007. Post DoubleClick he worked with TV distribution firm IMD before joining Flashtalking in 2009.
Co-founder of Flashtalking Inc.’s US business, responsible for initial launch through to successful and continued expansion from ‘three guys in a coffee shop’ to over 200 people in four offices across the US. A strategic business development executive with established high-value, revenue generating, partnerships across the industries leading advertising technology platforms. Consulting and executing a comprehensive range of digital media and technology solutions for blue chip advertisers, global agency teams and technology platform partners across US, Europe and APAC.
For 15 years, Steve has been a thought leader and expert practitioner in planning, executing and measuring digital media strategies. In 2010, Steve founded Encore Media Metrics to pioneer a new category in attribution and advanced analytics. Encore was acquired by Flashtalking in 2015 and now provides data-driven insights for advertisers around the globe. As a leading attribution platform, Encore has helped more than 100 brands and agencies save millions in wasted spend while generating significant improvements in ROI from digital media. A favored uncle and dog-dad, Steve grew up in Oklahoma, graduated from Harvard Business School and lives and works in NYC.
Anthony Yam is SVP of Product. A forward-thinking leader in digital advertising, Yam co-chairs the IAB Flex Ads Working Group and has contributed to the development of the flexible, next-generation IAB ad portfolio that enables beautiful, scalable and respectful advertising experiences across the web. Previously Chief Product Officer and co-founder of Spongecell, he led development of an advanced dynamic creative and decisioning platform. Spongecell and Flashtalking merged in early 2018 to become the industry leading ad management platform. Prior to Spongecell, Yam built the flagship product for a natural language processing startup that was successfully acquired and integrated into Ariba’s spend management platform, now part of SAP. Early in his career, he developed electronic defense systems at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C. Yam graduated magna cum laude with a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee.
Joe oversees Flashtalking’s Sales and Account Management teams in the US. As one of the original Co-founders of Flashtalking US operations Joe has been instrumental in growing the business from three people to over 200 hundred across six offices across North America. Prior to Flashtalking, Joe held several senior roles at Pointroll overseeing National Sales, Account Management and Publisher Sales during his 5+ years at Pointroll. Joe has over 20+ years of digital experience ranging from Search to Mobile to Rich Media. Sabol resides in NJ with his wife and 3 young sons where he coaches high school wrestlers and prepares his sons for the 2032 Olympics and UFC 420.
With over 20 years digital experience, Betsy spent 6-years at AOL, first as a strategic account manager leading large scale multi-million dollar integrated content/commerce partnerships and evolved into a top Midwest sales rep. Once rich media hit the digital scene there was no turning back, Betsy fell in love with the creative technology side of the business spending 5-years at Pointroll spanning verticals winning over clients like Kellogg’s, Sears, Nintendo, Etrade and NBC Universal along with hiring, training and growing the Midwest sales team. As a founding member of the US Flashtalking team, Betsy leads the Midwest team with 40+ cross functional team members and focuses on leveraging innovative technology solutions and messaging approaches that uniquely deliver on digital communication objectives and performance metrics.
After completing his Master’s degree in Theology at Georgetown in the late ‘90s Chris headed West to get ad tech religion, Silicon Valley style. He cut his teeth selling websites door-to-door for Citysearch, and eventually earned sales leadership roles at ad networks Adsmart and Engage Media. In 2000 – the year of mobile! – he helped launch the ad sales team for AvantGo, the first web content service for mobile devices. Having moved back East to raise a family, his next several years focused on revitalizing historic properties throughout Greater Philadelphia. Chris has led Flashtalking’s East Coast sales team for 6+ years now, and lives in Pelham, NY with his wife Paige and 2 kids, Zoe and Cooper.
Adam loves advertising. After initially starting his career working at a traditional advertising agency, Adam quickly moved into the digital space working for BlueLithium and later EyeWonder. During his four+ years at EyeWonder, Adam helped establish the San Francisco office and Northwest sales presence while holding a number of sales & management responsibilities and roles. In April of 2011, Adam joined the Flashtalking team as Sales Director and the first West Coast employee. Since that time Flashtalking has received a very warm welcome on the West Coast and has quickly expanded with sales, campaign management, production and tech support team members working out of offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Adam currently resides in North Beach, San Francisco where he lives with his wife Kimberly.
Simon is UK MD at Flashtalking, responsible for all commercial relationships and operations in London. Simon returned to the UK in Jan 2018 after three years establishing Flashtaking’s Australian office and driving its rapid expansion across the wider APAC region. Prior to this he worked at Flashtalking in London, as an Account Director and latterly Director of Ad Operations, helping to shape the company’s digital ad management and analytics technology. Simon is highly experienced in creating the best ad tech strategy to meet sophisticated advertiser requirements
Before joining Flashtalking in 2007, he worked in Ad Operations at ad technology company Tangozebra, acquired by DoubleClick in 2007.
Peter Falcone is Director of Analytics at Flashtalking where he leads analytics accounts, market development and industry partnerships across EMEA. He plays an active role in the ongoing development of Flashtalking’s award-winning attribution platform. Peter is passionate about bringing insights and effectiveness to advertisers through the use of cutting edge tech and champions industry collaborations. Peter sits on the i-com UK advisory board.
Before Flashtalking, Peter served as Google’s Analytical Lead in EMEA for the Google Analytics 360 Suite, managing attribution engagements with Google’s largest advertisers. Prior to joining Google, Peter was a Systems Engineer for Cisco Systems from 2005-2010 in the Netherlands, Italy and the UK. Peter studied Computer science engineering at the University of Padova (Italy) specialising in Operations Research and started his career as a software engineer developing optimisation algorithms at TXT e-solutions.
Shirley leads Flashtalking’s UK Sales team and brings over 20 years of commercial experience across leading digital, technology and creative businesses. Most recently, Shirley spent over 9 years at Sizmek as UK Sales Director. During her time there, Shirley guided the Sales Team through Sizmek’s many transitional periods from the early stages of Eyeblaster and Mediamind through to their most recent rebrand to Sizmek. Shirley has extensive expertise in selling complex product suites to agencies, brands and publishers across UK & EMEA. Shirley is passionate about digital technology and is energetic in her approach to offering her clients creative and innovative digital solutions.
Christian is responsible for Flashtalking in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. After his Master degree, Christian started working on the publisher side. As Director of Network Management he was responsible for the development of Lycos-Europe`s Network approach before building up the Eyewonder office and operations in Hamburg. Christian joined Flashtalking in 2009, opening the German Flashtalking office with colleagues Frank Lefering (Director of Account Management) and Ronny Schmeisser (Director of Ad Technology).
Frank works as Director Account Management in Germany. After working as a banker he graduated in media economics and collected comprehensive industry knowledge within the online advertising market as digital media planner at Mediacom and ZenithOptimedia. Frank was co-responsible for the successful German market entry and the strong growth of Interactive Digital Advertising specialist Eyewonder in 2007 before he started as a founding member of Flashtalking in Germany in 2009.
Ronny Schmeisser is responsible for all technology-related topics in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He gained profound knowledge of ad serving technology when he worked at the online unit of a newspaper publisher in 1999. From 2001 Ronny was a specialist for all ad technology related topics at freenet.de . He was responsible for the technical support, ad management and product development of freenet’s shareholding at rich media & video specialist Vendi interactive, that was acquired by Eyewonder in 2007. Ronny worked in a leading role as creative support specialist at Eyewonder Germany before he started at Flashtalking in 2009 as Director of AdTechnology DACH .
Based in Amsterdam Joost oversees Flashtalking’s activity for the Benelux. He has over 15 years digital experience in online marketing and advertising – on the publisher side at AutoScout24 he developed and looked after all advertising activity. After several senior roles at the IAB, the agency side and Eyewonder, Joost opened the Dutch Flashtalking office in 2014.
Georgia leads Flashtalking Australia, over-seeing sales and operations both locally and across the APAC region. She is responsible for relationships with key agencies and industry partners, working with some of the largest advertisers in the region to successfully deliver the most advanced digital strategies. Prior to running the Australia office, Georgia worked at Flashtalking in London, starting out in Campaign Management then rapidly rising to Account Director, ensuring key accounts benefitted from the latest advances in digital marketing technology and strategy.
