Account Director



The Account Director excels at client strategy, building and deepening client relationships, and managing day-to-day activities for key revenue-producing partnerships. He/She has had 6+ years of experience working in client-facing positions in ad tech and is looking for the unique opportunity to make a real impact in a growing company. The ideal candidate is passionately knowledgeable about the ad tech space and adops in particular. He/She is energetic and can easily prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment. The candidate is highly articulate in discussing complex technical strategies and implementations. He/She is professional, polished, and service-minded, and with superior communication and networking skills is able to deepen relationships with a wide range of qualified partners.

Primary Job Functions

  • Day-to-day communication with client and agency teams, in tandem with Sales Director, to oversee activities with key Flashtalking accounts across verticals

  • Serve as the “face of Flashtalking” for a specific list of active accounts; representing the company’s brand, values, and commitment to service

  • Develop a deep grasp of sophisticated programmatic creative strategies, and communicate with visuals and in words the “what / why / how / when” of each digital campaign

  • Work closely with Sales Director and Campaign Managers to on-board new clients, produce custom process documents, and support client teams and agencies throughout

  • Collaborate closely with internal Flashtalking teams to ensure optimal campaign implementation in order to achieve the required creative/decisioning/reporting outputs

  • Manage development and delivery of creative messaging strategies for clients, media agencies, and creative agencies

  • Engage advertisers and agencies in strategic dialog, assessing opportunities involving senior management for large commercial scale opportunities

  • Develop and present regular creative performance reviews with clients (eg. as part of QBRs)

  • Collaborate with management to ensure all partners (new and existing) are receiving adequate coverage and focus

  • Know the commercial opportunities within accounts, identifying opportunities for revenue growth

  • Own billing process across all accounts, managing junior team members ensuring all invoicing is handled correctly and within the needed timeframe

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication skills both in person and in writing, with particular emphasis on technical details relating to complex ad tech setups

  • Strong leadership skills—must be able to work collaboratively across internal Flashtalking and external client teams to drive projects forward under tight deadlines

  • Excellent listening skills—ability to absorb strategic and technical information and translate it into action items/next steps

  • Highly autonomous, self-directed and comfortable working within an entrepreneurial environment

  • Understanding of the full digital landscape: DSP, SSP, DMP, publishers, rich media/video vendors, paid search, social, attribution, fraud protection, etc.

  • Strong grasp of how ad server technology fits into the LUMAscape, from both strategy and implementation standpoints


  • 6+ years of professional experience in digital media mandatory. Areas of work can include account management or ad operations

  • Experience communicating with and presenting to clients across various level and teams (audiences will include senior clients, senior media agency leadership, senior creative agency leadership, adops, analytics teams)

  • Extensive knowledge and experience within programmatic media buying/planning industry, including understanding of implementation process and reporting outputs

  • Working knowledge of leading advertiser ad server solutions (DoubleClick DCM, Sizmek, Atlas, Flashtalking, etc.)


Minimum 4 year degree with emphasis on communications/marketing


Position requires 25% travel
